If unofficial reports are anything to go by, than PKR is currently winning in the two bukits but losing at the one batang...okay weird.
But I won't be surprised if the end result if different. I wouldn't be surprised but I would definitely not be happy. Reading online news portals today I can sense a kind of biasness by the mainstream government held media (as have always been the case) and that not everything is reported.
It is always, there's scuffle here and there and police were able to stop it before it bursts. Also the report would somehow show that the opposition is the cause of it all (by reporting that BN had lodged a report). I tend to believe that, in any melting pot, everything that is put in it would melt - regardless of which party it belongs to. So yeah, I don't believe everything is Pakatan's doing.
There are also other bias reports like how buses full of non-voters were stopped by PAS members (could be phantom voters) however such claims were quashed by the police without even checking. The police said that they were supporters, not phantom voters. Sure they are, but they could also be phantom voters. All we want is better workmanship by the police. The media should highlight this, instead they seem to regard it as a non-issue.
Also in Batang Ai, ballot boxes were carried away to the tallying place by air and water, and no person were allowed to accompany election officials. In this case, there could be reasonable suspicions of malfeasant practises going about there (especially with the recent revelation in Selangor whereby the EC is working together with BN to promote BN and all).
Media seemed reluctant to focus on all issues related to the election. Also, apparently one srikandi keadilan had lodged a police report against one UMNO supporter/worker (not sure) for sexual harrassment. The supporter had apparently grabbed the woman into an UMNO service centre but was fortunately saved by residents. I'm sure this could happen, and I - being slightly bias towards the opposition but at the same time believe this not just because an opposition female member was the victim and I hate BN - know for a fact it did happen because witnesses were there to testify.
The media plays an important role in keeping things in check but the way reports are being played out medias are just doing their paymasters a favor. Reports, I might add, could be vital tomorrow. Fact is, if people believe what they read, and people tend to, then if any "unwanted" things happen tonight, people won't question the election results and things would go unpunished. - by "unwanted" I mean cheating -
Not like it has never happened before, cheating and all. But I do have faith that with better majorities, any cheating wouldn't have an impact. I don't really know what's going on in any of the constituents but judging from the more independent news portals, the opposition looks to have an edge - and quite a comfortable one at that.
Oops, PKR lost in Batang Ai. Damn. But the referendum I believe is in Bukit Gantang. But I also think that the one in Batang Ai seems to have a lot issues that are vague in terms of the EC's conduct. I guess the opposition can let that one go anyway because no one was really expecting a win there. Damn nonetheless.
